Being a part of the BS in Marketing program at UTD has been an enjoyable and adventurous experience for me. I transferred to UTD last fall (2019) from a small liberal arts school in Kansas. Even though I was studying marketing there, my knowledge and experience in marketing took on a whole new level after transferring. I have taken a variety of exciting classes that have challenged me to grow in many ways.

Academics aside, there are also many outlets for you to apply the knowledge you learn from your classes. Namely for me, through my Product and Brand Management class, I was able to work with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Garland by helping them raise awareness for North Texas Giving Day. During this project, I was able to work with the Habitat for Humanity marketing team and show them the skills I learned in class to help them improve their presence on social media, which helped them find new donors. This is a small example of how the marketing program has helped me grow these past two semesters. I can’t wait for what’s in store in my next year at UTD.
